Preparing Stretcher Bars and Stretching The Canvas Video I have three video downloads totaling 42 minutes that actually show me preparing the 30x36" stretcher bars and stretching the linen canvas. Here I discuss my decision making process and related issues. As I'm sure you are aware, it is very important to have a great surface to paint on. It makes all the difference in the finished work. Store bought canvases are rarely suitable. Finding the right canvas in the right size when I need it in a store is almost impossible. As artists we need to know how to create a fantastic support to paint on, in short notice, in the specific size we need, BEFORE the passion to create wanes.
