Preparing Stretcher Bars and Stretching Canvas – Instruction by master portrait painter

By December 6, 2009June 1st, 2016Portrait Painting Instruction, Portraits

I have three video downloads totaling 42 minutes that actually show me preparing the 30×36″ stretcher bars and stretching the linen canvas. During the process I discuss my decision making process and related issues.

As I’m sure you are aware, it is very important to have a great surface to paint on. It makes all the difference in the finished work. Store bought canvases are rarely suitable.  Finding the right canvas in the right size when I need it in a store is almost impossible.  As artists we need to know how to create a fantastic support to paint on,  in short notice, in the specific size we need, BEFORE the passion to create wanes.

If you have any questions after watching the video downloads, I will be happy to do my best to answer them if you log in to my Ustream.tv chat room when Im broadcasting live.

I will make the downloads available to you after you send payment to Mark@MarkLovettStudio.com with Paypal  by clicking the button below.
